(TheRedWire.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has promised to “start slitting throats” from the first day if he is elected into the White House.

On Sunday, during an event in New Hampshire, DeSantis stated that he would be fighting against the “deep state,” a term often used by conservatives to describe an alleged group of unelected officials controlling and directing government policy.

DeSantis, who is polling second in the 2024 Republican primary polls under former President Donald Trump, took a three-day trip to New Hampshire. During his visit to the early primary state, he spoke at a barbecue in Rye organized by former Republican Senator Scott Brown.

During the event, DeSantis said they would “start slitting throats” on the first day and move against the “deep state people.”

One of the barbecues attendees, Norm Olsen, stated that he was against DeSantis’ remarks and that if he had been a part of the governor’s PR team, he would have urged him not to employ such terminology during his speeches.

DeSantis’ speech during the event focused heavily on the fight against woke culture. He further argued that they would ensure the revived agenda would be thrown in the “dustbin of history.” In his state, DeSantis has already passed the “Stop Woke Act,” which prohibits all businesses and educational establishments from promoting the idea and teaching that people should feel negative emotions, including guilt and anguish, because of their sex, national origin, or race.
