(TheRedWire.com) – In a show of defiance against President Donald Trump, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was the highest-ranking member of the GOP in the House to vote for impeachment. Speaking of Trump, she said that no other president in American history betrayed the country more than the 45th President of the United States.
Cheney is the 3rd highest-ranking Republican in the House. However, her conservative colleagues are angry over her betrayal of Trump, and they want Cheney stripped of her leadership role. Minority Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and influential Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just came to her defense, however.
Liz knows that a strong America is a safe America. She believes we must confront radical Islam and take the fight to them to ensure there are no more 9/11’s.
In the eyes of many – Liz Cheney’s experience, leadership, and strength are invaluable to the Republican Party.

It’s not customary for leaders in the two chambers to get involved in the other’s business. However, Graham and McConnell did just that. In a show of support, McConnell said Cheney is an influential leader for the party. In an attempt to sway fellow conservatives, Graham said Cheney is one of the GOP’s great “conservative voices.”
How will House GOP members take the news? They appear to be ignoring McConnell and Graham, continuing to push for her ouster from party leadership despite her ringing endorsements.
