(TheRedWire.com) – Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for an investigation to be launched into former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter over comments she had made in the past that included leaked information about the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
On Monday morning, Greene reposted a video of Alexandra Pelosi from several months ago in which she is speaking with a Jan. 6 defendant’s family. The defendants in question had claimed to have been one of those facing criminal charges in connection to the attempt to block the certification process of the 2020 presidential election by storming the U.S. Capitol.
Alexandra Pelosi, a documentary filmmaker who was in the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, capturing footage that would be used in an HBO documentary focused on her mother, can be heard in the video downplaying the events of Jan. 6 and the allegations of an insurrection having taken place.
Greene, who has long lobbied for those convicted because of the Capitol attack, used this incident to call for an investigation into Pelosi. As she wrote in a tweet, they needed to look into this. Alexandra Pelosi had been integral in depicting the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Her footage shows a large part of how the day’s events unfolded.
However, the footage also led to many developing conspiracy theories, including ideas that the Jan. 6 attack was a peaceful protest. Greene is one of those who has echoed the sentiment that Jan. 6 was, in fact, a peaceful protest.
