(TheRedWire.com) – Florida Representative Matt Gaetz told Donald Trump that he should choose a female running mate for his 2024 presidential campaign so that he can gain some support from women voters.

While talking with Tim pool during a podcast episode on Timcast IRL, Gaetz said that the only reason he had gained some female support in 2016 was that women did not want to have to tell their future daughters and grandaughters that Hillary Clinton was the first President.

In 2024 however, he most likely won’t have this type of support. This is why choosing a female running mate could be the best way in order to gain the support of female voters. Gaetz further suggested that Arkansas governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, or South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem would both be great running mate options.

On Sunday during a Fox News interview, Sanders specifically refused to say whether or not she would endorse Trump in his 2024 presidential campaign. She further added that her attention was entirely set on Arkansas. Since taking on the governorship, Sanders has implemented a number of rules including banning TikTok from many government devices.

Gaetz said that the most important thing for Trump is to create a structure in which even women who do not like him would be willing to vote for him.

While Gaetz did not mention Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, many others have pointed to her as a potential running mate for Trump.
