FBI Raid BACKFIRES – Look What Republicans Want Now!
(TheRedWire.com) – The FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida home on August 8. They secured a search warrant allowing them to ransack the estate for classified documents and government property officials believed he wrongly possessed. A month removed from the Justice Department’s action, a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National poll asked Americans’ opinions regarding whether they wanted Trump to run for president in 2024. More than 60% of Republicans believe he should run for office even if the Department of Justice (DOJ) charges him with a crime.
The poll said 61% of Americans don’t want the former head of state to run again in 2024, comprised of 90% of Democrats, 26% of Republicans, and 67% of Independents surveyed. If the DOJ charges him with a crime, it climbs slightly to 65% overall, with 61% of surveyed Republicans supporting Trump regardless of a criminal probe.

When asked if the potential 2024 presidential candidate committed a crime, 44% of Americans believe he committed an illegal act by taking government documents after leaving office in January 2021. Still, 17% think he didn’t do anything illegal, although it was likely unethical. That’s not all… 29% of the public, including 63% of registered Republicans surveyed, don’t think Trump did anything wrong.
The survey results came before news that the former president might have kept top secret nuclear information about a foreign government and other data.
So, if the DOJ indicts Trump for a crime, would you feel comfortable with him serving as the Commander in Chief again?
