(TheRedWire.com) – One person decides COVID-19 rules in the House of Representatives: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Like many Democratic governors, Pelosi rules with an iron fist when creating pandemic rules in the House.
She decided in December that all members must wear a mask when in the House chamber, including when they speak. The fine for breaking the rule is $500. However, President Biden didn’t wear a mask when he gave a speech before Congress on Wednesday, April 28, because he received an exemption.
That led one member of Congress to object to the leniency shown to the president.
If Joe Biden was able to speak in the chambers without a mask on, so should members of Congress.
The gallery should also be reopened, so the American People are allowed back in the People’s House.

On April 30, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) wrote a letter to Pelosi ripping her over her apparent hypocrisy. If it’s okay for Biden to speak for well over an hour without a mask, with Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris right behind him, one would think it’s okay for everyone to take off their masks.
Boebert told Pelosi in the letter that the speaker ought to follow the science and let members of Congress speak at the podium without a mask. She wrote that she was frustrated with the speaker’s inconsistencies and that the rules she imposed were nothing more than political theater and a charade.
Boebert’s letter isn’t likely to get far with Pelosi.
