(TheRedWire.com) – Hypocrisy is the order of the day among House Democrats who continually push to censor and punish Republican members of Congress for speech they find offensive. In 2018, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told Left-wing activists to search out and find Trump officials in public spaces, get in their faces, and harass them. She potentially incited violence, and Democrats did nothing to correct her speech. Not even a year earlier, a gunman targeted 5 Republicans on a baseball diamond, shooting Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA). The GOP believed it was an act of terrorism fueled by anger driven in part by reckless Democratic rhetoric.
Now, Left-wing Democrats are expressing sensitivities after Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) referred to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as a member of the “Jihad squad.” Omar, a Somali American and a Muslim, said Boebert’s words were Islamaphobic and dangerous and should be condemned. Omar’s exhortation comes from the same person Congress members publicly called out twice over anti-Semitic remarks even though Democrats refused to censure or punish her directly.

Now, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) take action and strip Boebert of her House committee seats. AOC expressed frustration that an action so obvious was taking too long and called the delay in punishment an embarrassment. Pelosi must be feeling she’s in big trouble with AOC – that’ll get her moving.
Scalise stated instead of focusing on Boebert, Democrats appeared unwilling to apologize or discipline members of their caucus for offensive statements. It appears he may be right. Democrats must believe it’s okay to insult Jewish Americans if you’re a Muslim, but it’s not okay to offend a Muslim under the guise of Islamophobia.
