(TheRedWire.com) – On Thursday, February 3, the feud between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and former President Donald Trump resurfaced. In 2021, Pelosi authorized the creation of the House January 6 Select Committee. Democrats tasked the partisan 7 to 2 Democratic and anti-Trump Republican-led committee with learning what led to the January 6, 2021, riot on Capitol Hill.
Committee members appear intent on laying the entire blame for the events that unfolded on President Trump. To this point, they’ve subpoenaed numerous former Trump administration officials and issued two contempt of Congress inquiries to the Department of Justice against Steve Bannon and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. On Thursday, reporters asked Pelosi if the committee had inquired about any information from her. The Speaker said she had not heard from the committee and only knows what the public does. Yet, she volunteered that she would talk with the committee if asked.

Trump wonders why. He believes Pelosi is responsible as the Speaker of the House for the security of Capitol Hill. He says she refused his recommendation to secure the Capitol Building with more police and National Guard soldiers. The 45th president further alleged the Speaker destroyed or deleted files proving his point. Trump feels strongly that because he recommended a more substantial security force ahead of January 6 and she refused, he should not be held responsible for what happened at the Capitol.
