(TheRedWire.com) – Vivek Ramaswamy, a healthcare and tech sector entrepreneur, conservative commentator, and author announced his presidential campaign during a live interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson on Tuesday.
Ramaswamy during the interview stated that the U.S. is currently going through a “national identity crisis.” He added that people are focusing on their differences instead of remembering the values and ideals that have kept the country united since its founding. He told Carlson that his presidential campaign and run would be focused on reviving those values.
He continued to say that he would ensure that “merit” is put back into every aspect of American life and that all affirmative action would come to an end. Ramaswamy, 37, is the author of “Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam.”He is currently on a listening tour for his book, with his latest stop having been New Hampshire. New Hampshire is a particularly important state in the GOP primary as it is the second state to vote in the Republican presidential nominating calendar.
New York Magazine had previously published a profile on Ramaswamy and his war against culture issues and had even called him “the CEO of Anti-Woke Inc.”
Apart from his announcement on Fox News, Ramaswamy also put out a campaign video in which he claimed that his campaign was not just political, but rather it was a cultural movement that would help create a country that is focused on merit and excellence for future generations regardless of skin color.
