(TheRedWire.com) – As the FBI and US Attorney in Brooklyn investigate Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of nursing home deaths and misleading reports, his state is among the least safe in the US. A recent study ranked New York 49 out of 51. It’s the third least safe state during the pandemic.

The study concluded that the Empire State recorded the second-highest positive test and transmission rates in the country. Making things worse, it was number one in hospitalization rates. That’s without knowing the true numbers of how many people died in nursing homes in the spring of 2020. Last week, one of the governor’s top aides told Democratic lawmakers that the administration intentionally withheld the actual number of people who died in nursing homes due to COVID-19.
The cover-up scandal is forcing Democrats to consider measures against the governor. However, the governor is resisting an investigation by the state House and Senate over his handling of the nursing home deaths. In a press conference on Monday, February 15, Cuomo doubled down and blamed conspiracy theories and misinformation for the developing scandal.
