(TheRedWire.com) – Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) could damage the support of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in a hypothetical GOP 2024 presidential primary. This has helped former President Trump pull ahead in a potential three-way race.

The Yahoo News-YouGov poll has shown that while in a head-to-head matchup against former President Trump, DeSantis would lead by 45 percent to 41 percent, the moment that Haley was also added to the race, Trump would win the lead. This is because Haley would gain 11 percent of the votes, bringing Trump’s support to 38 percent and dropping DeSantis’s support to 35 percent.

The poll also showed that DeSantis would win in a hypothetical matchup against President Biden, in a 44 percent to 43 percent race. However, Biden is currently leading against Trump by 6 points. This means that if the two men were to have another matchup Biden would emerge victorious with 47 percent while Trump would only have 41 percent.

Trump is currently the only major Republican candidate to have announced that he would run for the presidential campaign. Haley is also expected to join the race next week. This would make her the first major challenger to go against Trump.

DeSantis is also rumored to be considering entering the race along with other Republicans such as former Vice President Mike Pence, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R), and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
