(TheRedWire.com) – Republicans are warning against discounting Nikki Hayley in the 2024 presidential race, especially after her dynamic campaign launch.

On Wednesday, Haley kicked off her campaign which provided insight into how she planned on challenging former President Donald Trump’s position as the leading candidate for the GOP primary.

During her first two events in Charleston, South Carolina, and New Hampshire Haley focused on the GOP’s image problem as well as the need for newer leaders that could guide the country into the future.

As she told a crowd of supporters during her event in Charleston while “America is not past its prime” its “politicians are.” So far this message appears to have found appeal with many Republican operatives and strategists who have been trying to find ways to avoid another underwhelming performance like the one in the 2022 midterm elections. Still, Haley’s path to winning the presidential nomination is not going to be easy.

Dallas Woodhouse, a longtime GOP operative and the executive director of the conservative South Carolina Policy Council, has said that it will be good for the Republican party to have Nikki Haley in the race as she can help with the party’s image regardless of whether or not she wins. Woodhouse also warned that it was not wise to forecast how Haley would perform as the GOP is “in uncharted waters.”

He added that especially if you talk with people you realize that Haley is perceived as a “pretty good candidate” and that “voters have a funny way of deciding who they want and who can win.”
