(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Barack Obama’s former senior advisor has warned about how Green Party presidential candidate for 2024, Cornel West, could create problems for the Biden re-election campaign. David Axelrod, a top adviser in Obama’s administration for two years before being the senior strategist for Obama’s 2012 re-e-election campaign, recently questioned why the democrats were not concerned about West’s possible candidacy in the presidential race.
West announced last month that he would join the presidential race as a third-party candidate. Still, the Democrats have dismissed mainly West, whom they do not consider a serious candidate, as they are teaming up in support of Biden for the 2024 presidential election.
Still, Axelrod does not agree with that dismissal, pointing out how West’s candidacy could hurt Biden’s campaign. He noted that people should already have alarm bells ringing over this situation.
He is not the only Democrat with that opinion. Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Austin Davis also claimed that the Democratic party should be more concerned about what it means that West has joined the presidential race. Davis had reportedly claimed that the Democrats should be worried and try to deal with the situation as quickly as possible rather than letting things hang.
In recent weeks West has targeted Biden on many issues. As he told Fox News, his presidential bid was earnest, and people should view it as such. He then criticized Biden for his relationship with Democratic senators that supported segregation and questioned the level of care Biden has for the Black community.
