(TheRedWire.com) – HealthCare.gov Marketplace has marked that 2024 was the third consecutive record year for ObamaCare with 21.3 million people having signed up for coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
In a statement, President Biden noted that this had been another record broken as they provided Americans with lower costs and ensured that 21.3 million people would have access to quality healthcare by signing up for affordable coverage through the marketplaces.
He further pointed out that under the law there have been an additional 9 million people who have gained coverage which provided him with greater “peace of mind.” He added that it was not accidental that he was focused on protecting the Affordable Care Act and had worked to lower premiums as this made a big difference to the lives of the American people. He noted that this has been made clear by Americans who have shown that they do not want to see the Affordable Care Act repealed but instead, they want to see it strengthened and maintained.
Earlier this month the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services noted that over 20 million people had signed up for health insurance, marking the third consecutive year where the record high has been broken.
The majority of people were given until Jan. 15 to sign up for healthcare coverage, this included everyone who had been disenrolled from Medicaid following the Covid-19 pandemic. Those who had been disenrolled had until July 31 to enroll back.
