(TheRedWire.com) – On Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and billionaire Elon Musk got into an online clash following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address before the U.S. Congress. In his comments on X, Musk blasted the Democratic Party which he referred to as being openly antisemitic.
The altercation between the two started after Ocasio-Cortez took to X where she wrote about how she and other Democratic lawmakers were choosing to not participate in the joint Congress session where Netanyahu was set to deliver his speech. As she pointed out, there we’re going to be so many people not present during the address that Netanyahu is only going to be addressing a fraction of the U.S. Congress. She further pointed out that when that happens the seats in Congress are usually filled with non-members so that they can pretend that there was full support and attendance.
Musk,, who was in attendance during the Capitol address, responded to the original post by claiming that the Democratic Party had been openly antisemitic.
In response, the Democratic lawmaker wrote that there were times when being quiet is “good for you.” She had also attacked the post in a Wall Street Journal article where Musk appeared to have agreed with a post made by the Representative last year which had been considered antisemitic.
Last November, Musk had come under fire for engaging with a conspiracy theory post where it was suggested that antisemitism had been carried out by minorities and that Jewish people were at fault. In the false conspiracy theories, it was alleged that Jewish people were looking to flood Western nations with minorities.
