Pelosi Attacker Was NOT a Republican According to Reports

(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday, October 28, 42-year-old David DePape broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) California home. As he walked through the house, he asked, “Where’s Nancy?” Ultimately, he found her 82-year-old husband, Paul Pelosi, and severely injured him with a hammer. Pelosi required surgery to repair a cracked skull and damage to his right arm and both hands. Afterward, Democrats and the media pounced. They alleged that DePape embraced the right wing. Yet, reports show he wasn’t even a Republican.

Some media reports suggested his social media revealed far-right messaging full of dark conspiracies. Still, police have not assigned a motive to the attack. His former girlfriend, Oxane “Gypsy” Taub, said DePape was not involved in the MAGA movement and didn’t support the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021. She added he never registered as a Republican. Instead, she stated the nudist activist was mentally ill and a progressive.

Taub also said DePape disappeared for more than a year. She stated he recently thought he was Jesus. She also noted the assailant was paranoid and continually thought people were out to get him.

Police said DePape was targeting the House Speaker. Federal prosecutors charged him with retaliating against, impeding, or influencing a federal official by threatening or injuring a family member. Additionally, he faces a single count of attempted kidnapping of a federal official. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins is also planning to file state charges after local police officers arrested him at the scene of the crime on elder abuse, burglary, and suspicion of attempted murder.
