Pence Fighting for Relevance After Falling Out of Favor With Trump

Trump Spokesman Drops BOMB On Mike Pence – Reveals What He Lost

( – On January 26, 2021, many Trump Conservatives expressed deep displeasure with then-Vice President Mike Pence for failing to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Pence stated he didn’t have the Constitutional authority to override the Electoral College. Pence claimed numerous times that his role was to preside over the Electoral College certification, not unilaterally override it. Since that day, Pence and the former president have reportedly been on the outs.

In recent months, Pence doubled down on his January 6 position. Now, he’s going head to head with Trump in Georgia. After the 2020 election, Trump criticized Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) for not challenging the presidential election in the Peach State over reported allegations of voter fraud. As Kemp, the incumbent runs for re-election, Trump has endorsed former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA). On Monday, May 23, Pence headed to Georgia to support Kemp, who leads Perdue significantly in recent polling.

Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich told The New York Times that Trump saved Pence’s political career in 2016, claiming he would have lost the Indiana governorship. Budowich stated Pence was trying to gain relevance in the GOP by jumping into GOP races and was hoping someone was paying attention to him. The spokesman added that Trump is 82 to 3 in his endorsements.

What do you think? Is Pence looking for relevance, or are the former president and vice president preparing to duel for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination?
