( –  GOP Rep and Pharmacist called on Biden to take a cognitive test because of his “fragile mental state.”

On Monday, Republican Rep. Earl Carter (Georgia), who is a pharmacist, wrote to the White House calling for President Joe Bide to undergo a cognitive assessment because of his “fragile mental state” and inability to carry out his duties.

Carter wrote to White House chief of staff Jeff Zients that he had “serious concern[s]” about Biden’s cognitive aptitude and his “ability to execute the duties of the Presidency.”

The Georgia Rep. suggested that there had been “numerous examples” of Biden’s “declining mental acuity,” adding that the White House should be “transparent” regarding the President’s “ability to uphold” his duties.

Biden’s ability has been called into question several times this year.

Carter highlighted several instances that called Biden’s mental acuity into question, including an incident in January where Biden confused the names of two Hispanic cabinet secretaries — Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

In February, Biden also claimed he spoke to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and former French President François Mitterrand at the 2021 G-7 Summit, despite Kohl’s death in 2017 and Mitterand’s death in 1996.

Carter noted in his letter to Zients that given his experience “As a consultant pharmacist for several decades,” he had treated nursing home patients for years and could detect the early signs of “cognitive decline,” which he stated included “forgetfulness,” specifically “forgetting names and confusing prior experiences with current events.”
