(TheRedWire.com) – In recent weeks, several members of the far-left “Squad” called for either defunding or eliminating the police after Daunte Wright was accidentally shot instead of tasered by a Minneapolis area police officer. One of the most vocal was Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). She took the latter view, saying that police were so inherently and intentionally racist that police reform wasn’t possible. The only answer according, to Tlaib, was to eliminate policing altogether.

Her statements outraged Detroit Police Chief James Craig. He called her statement “reckless” and said she ought to resign. Craig even promised to throw her a goodbye party. The police chief added that Tlaib doesn’t speak for every minority person. He rhetorically asked if she’s representing her constituents or a fringe group?
It’s not the first time Tlaib has gone on a tirade about the police. During the 2020 summer of riots, the Congresswoman called for defunding the police but fell short of calling for their elimination.
