(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) stated that the criminal referrals against both Hunter Biden and James Biden were only the start and promised that during the next part of the impeachment inquiry, his focus was going to be on President Joe Biden.
Comer had pointed out that this was an investigation into Joe Biden, and that Biden’s son and brother along with Devon Archer and Eric Schwerin were all witnesses in the case about Joe Biden. He added that they would be doing everything they could in order to ensure that Hunter Biden and all associates related to this case are held accountable, but that their next step would be to focus on accountability for the President.
These latest remarks come after the Republicans leading the impeachment probe had called for the Department of Justice on Wednesday to bring forward criminal charges against both Hunter and James Biden. The two men have been accused of lying during their testimonies with the investigators.
In the past few months, the impeachment investigation has been kept quiet as so far they have not managed to produce any evidence that clearly shows wrongdoing against Biden. Support for the inquiry also appears to be on the decline.
Comer argued that all those who have kept up with the inquiry are excited to see what will happen next. He also pointed out that Attorney General Merrick Garland does not bring forward charges, when former President Donald Trump wins back the White House he could select a different attorney general who would look into the charges.
