(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday, two Jan. 6 police officers along with actor Robert De Niro had stood outside of the New York courthouse where former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial is taking place on behalf of the Biden 2024 presidential campaign.

President Biden’s campaign has been trying to wade in on the legal affairs of the former President, which is why they decided to hold a press conference in lower Manhattan where they openly spoke about the threat to democracy that a second Trump administration would bring. Officers Michael Fanone and Harry Dunn were joined by the famous actor during the surprise event.

When asked about why they had selected to have the political event held outside a criminal trial, especially considering how often Trump has alleged that the legal cases against him have been brought forward by the Biden administration, Biden’s communication director Michael Tyler argued that the location was chosen because all the media was outside the courthouse.

Tyler continued by pointing out that it was easy to have discussions about the upcoming election when all the press members were there every single day. While Biden’s surrogates were delivering their statements, there were around 20 Trump supporters located nearby with MAGA gear and flags chanting slogans against Biden.

Last week De Niro filmed an ad for the Biden campaign in which he slammed Trump while supporters of the former President were in the background shouting. De Niro argued that it was Trump that had created this chaos and that he needed to be calling for his supporters not to do this.
