Ron DeSantis Argues With Gavin Newsom Over Disney

Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom Can’t Stop Arguing – Getting Heated!

(TheRedWire.com) – In 1967, the Florida legislature created a special district to allow Disney to govern itself. They then exempted it from state and local regulations. In mid-April, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation revoking Disney’s special district. The move against Disney occurred after the company became politically active over an education bill in the Sunshine State that prohibits teachers from talking about gender orientation or transgender issues with students from kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Now that the bill is law, far-left California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is chiming in with his opinion. The Democratic governor said California helps businesses thrive, innovate, and grow. He alleged that DeSantis initiated an authoritarian rule over Disney as a form of punishment.

DeSantis quickly fired back at Newsom during a sitdown interview posted online by The Recount. Fired up, DeSantis bashed San Francisco, calling it a “dumpster fire” and stating he didn’t want companies from California moving to Florida and bringing the Golden State’s failed liberal policies with them.

DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw also pushed back hard on the left-wing governor’s assertion that DeSantis was authoritarian. She said it’s not retaliatory to ensure that all corporations share in a more fair environment. Pushaw noted that ending crony corporate government carve-outs runs contrary to authoritarian systems.

Then she stuck the dagger in by saying Gov. Newsom locked down Disney and other theme parks for 13 months. She reminded the California Leftist that Florida didn’t lockdown or place mandates on businesses, insinuating that calling DeSantis an authoritarian was rich.

So, you decide. Which state would you call authoritarian, and which one free?
