Ron DeSantis Says Another COVID Crackdown Is Coming

( – In late January 2020, the United States reported its first case of the COVID-19 virus. In March 2020, then-President Donald Trump shut down the federal government for a few weeks to focus on developing a public safety response to the emerging pandemic. Several Democratic governors went further and kept their states locked down for more than a year, and many kept restrictions in place until January 2022. Inversely, Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis pushed back against that approach. He was the first governor to fully reopen his state, drop statewide mandates, and sign state laws forbidding local governments and school districts from enforcing harsh restrictions.

If you live in a Democratic state, you might be wondering whether the recent lifting of COVID restrictions is an election ploy. People are genuinely tired of the limits and are ready to move on and live with COVID. On Friday, March 11, DeSantis warned that once the election is over in November, Leftists will reimpose COVID mandates if they feel the need to re-assert their authority.

DeSantis said many people no longer want Dr. Anthony Fauci or a left-wing governor to make personal healthcare decisions on their behalf. He said they want to determine what’s best for themselves and their family. DeSantis also reminded people that he encourages individuals to do what they believe is in their best interests, but come winter of 2022, don’t be surprised to see Democrats decide for you.

The popular Florida governor said the only way to prevent left-wing Democrats from reimposing mandates and restrictions is to have a nice, big, red wave.

So, what do you think?

Is DeSantis onto something?
