Gary Shapley, who had worked as an IRS supervisor on the investigation, and a second whistleblower who has yet to be publicly identified, will be testifying at 1 p.m. The anonymous whistleblower also testified last month before the House Ways & Means Committee and will reveal his identity during Wednesday’s hearing. The whistleblowers have claimed that the IRS, FBI, and Department of Justice had attempted to interfere and influence the investigation into Hunter Biden. They have further stated that federal prosecutors had instructed them not to look into any questions that could implicate President Joe Biden and that the U.S. attorney handling the probe was not in complete control of whether charges would be filed.
The anonymous whistleblower’s testimony will refer to how Hunter Biden should have faced charges for a tax felony rather than tax misdemeanor charges. He added that the investigators had messages and communications that they had reviewed, which contradict President Biden’s statements that he was not a part of Hunter Biden’s overseas business activities.
