
(TheRedWire.com) – Around 2 am on Sunday, March 3, a mass shooting claimed the lives of three women and three men in downtown Sacramento, California. The horrifying event unfolded as bars closed and people began to leave. People fled through local neighborhoods running for safety as over 100 shots rang out. Police say the shooting occurred because of a street fight.
On Monday, April 4, police arrested 26-year-old Dandrae Martin as the first of three suspects. Law enforcement charged him with assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a loaded gun illegally as a convict. On Tuesday, Police arrested Dandrea’s 27-year-old brother, Smiley Martin, while he was hospitalized. Officials say he sustained severe injuries during the gunfight. When he’s released from the hospitall, officials say they will book him for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a machine gun.
A second suspect was arrested Tuesday in connection to the mass shooting in Sacramento that killed six people and wounded 12 in California's capital, and police say he is the brother of the first suspect.

On Wednesday, police apprehended a third individual, 31-year-old Daviyonne Dawson. Officials say they charged him with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Dandrae Martin didn’t enter a plea on Tuesday during a court appearance. Prosecutors haven’t charged any of the three suspects with homicide concerning Sunday’s shooting. The motive for the shootings remains unclear as investigators learn what led to the chaotic scene and how many people with guns were involved.
