Teacher RESIGNS After Showing Children These Disturbing Flashcards
(TheRedWire.com) – A preschool teacher at Ballentine Elementary School in North Carolina used flashcards that were “outside the approved curriculum” for the school. After the discovery and subsequent backlash from parents, the teacher resigned from her position at the school. The woman reportedly used pro LGBTQ+ cards depicting a pregnant man while teaching preschoolers their colors.
A concerned citizen contacted state Representative Erin Paré (R) regarding the matter. The lawmaker assured the public that the school’s principal promptly addressed the issue, confirming the school had not approved the Progress Pride Flag Rainbow Families Flash Cards for the classroom.

Upon notification, Principal Dr. Lutashia Dove took the flashcards and contacted both human resources and the local superintendent. The district released a statement reiterating the flashcards were not part of the school’s curriculum in any way. They also stated the incident concerned them.
Currently, North Carolina is passing legislation to give parents more oversight regarding their children’s school curriculum after instances last year and earlier this year when parents found critical race theory (CRT) taught in classrooms. The controversial subject has pitted conservative groups and parents against educators in many cases.
