(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday, former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that the GOP was going to call for liberal justices to resign if it was reported that they had displayed upside-down flags on their laws following the 2016 presidential election when former President Donald Trump had won the race.
The New York Times in a new report noted that an upside-down flag had been seen on the law of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s house for a short period on Jan. 17, 2021, only days before the inauguration of President Biden. The display had occurred around a week and a half after the Jan. 6, Capitol attack.
It has been stated that the upside-down flag has been connected to the “Stop the Steal” efforts to block the transfer of power based on the unfounded false claims that there was widespread election fraud in the election. Alito has argued that it was his wife who was responsible for placing the glad on their lawn.
During a CNN “State of the Union” panel discussion the former Trump aide argued that she considered it “deeply disturbing” and stated that if Trump had won in 2016 and Justice Sonia Sotomayor had been the one to hang an upside down flag then all of the GOP members would be pushing for her resignation.
She added that it was very disturbing that people were willing to “gloss over it.” Many Democrats have slammed the report, despite the fact that previously they had pushed for Alito to recuse himself from all cases that are connected to the Jan. 6, Capitol attack.
