(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Trump during a speech on Tuesday night from his Mar-a-Lago home told his supporters that he never believed that something “like this could happen in America.”
The speech took place only hours after Trump appeared in a Manhattan courtroom and pleaded “not guilty” to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. During his 25-minute speech, he claimed his only crime was “to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.” He further added this arraignment was an attempt by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office to interfere with the 2024 presidential election and to keep him from winning back the White House.
Trump emerged to the area where he gave his remarks with a 10-minute delay walking through a crowd of supporters. During his entry, Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” played and many of his supporters were chanting “USA! USA!” as he took the stage.
Trump is currently the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP primary, leading against both announced and potential challengers. When he entered the stage, he claimed the “radical left” prosecutors across the country were trying to get him “at any cost.” He added his claims about the 2020 presidential election being tampered with, which resulted in his defeat to Democrat Joe Biden, were now leading to the 2024 presidential election also being interfered with.
Trump had taken to Truth Social to announce he would be making a speech from Mar-a-Lago to his supporters.
