(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday, former President Trump blasted Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley following the second primary debate. In a post on Truth Social, he stated that “MAGA” would never support Haley and that she did not have any “loyalty” but rather often lied. He specifically criticized her for having previously stated that if Trump were to run again in 2024, she would not have placed her bid, but when the time came, mount one.
In his post, Trump pointed out that Haley had explicitly stated she would not “run against our great President” and that Trump had done an “outstanding job.” He added that Haley had even come to his Mar-a-Lago home with gifts, but her words did not mean anything. He proceeded to call Haley “Birdbrain” and argued that she lacked both the “temperament” and “talent” to serve in the White House.
On Wednesday, Haley and other GOP candidates criticized Trump during the second presidential debate. Haley’s ratings in the presidential race have also increased.
On Friday, Haley took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Trump’s post and point out the momentum gained by her campaign. She specifically said, “love this,” and argued that this meant they would quickly be moving to the number two spot in the Republican race.
Earlier this week, a New Hampshire primary poll showed that Haley was in second place with 15% support. Following the first Republican primary debate in August, Haley also had the biggest polling boost out of all the candidates.
