( – Former President Donald Trump during a speech in a Detroit African American Church slammed his presidential opponent President Joe Biden while he tried to appeal to Black American voters.

During his remarks on Saturday afternoon, he claimed that Biden has been the worst U.S. president for black Americans. He added that he had taken away their jobs and had damaged the community by forcing them to compete for jobs because of his open border policies. He added that this had also resulted in many Black Americans resorting to crime in order to survive. Trump’s speech had been aired in its entirety on the streaming platform Newsmax2 and live on Newsmax.

While trying to appeal to Black voters during the Turning Point Action The People’s Convention, Trump argued that Detroit was a very important area for the GOP and promised that there would be a time when he would come back on a Sunday to attend sermons. He added that his administration had done more for Black Americans than any other administration since Abraham Lincoln.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., who had introduced the former President before his speech, was also presented by Trump as one of his possible vice presidential running mates.

In the November election there are not many states that are more important than Michigan, a battleground state that Biden had managed to win by only 3 percent in the 2020 presidential election. For the Democrats Black voters are one of the most important voting groups and had been an important part of Biden’s victory in the previous election.
