(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Donald Trump slammed the border security policies followed by the Democrats, as well as their policies on crime following the murder of Laken Riley, a nursing student. An illegal immigrant from Venezuela has been arrested and charged as the suspect in this case.
Trump has vowed that “when” he is reelected in 2024 he would be looking at “immediately” sealing the southern border and that he would be pursuing the “largest deportation operation” that the country has ever seen.
Riley, 22, attended Augusta University, where she was found dead on the campus in Georgia on Thursday. She was found after her roommates had contacted authorities to inform them that she had never returned from her morning run.
The University of Georgia Police Department ended up arresting Jose Antonio Ibarra who is now facing several charges including false imprisonment, aggravated assault and battery, felony murder, malice murder, kidnapping as well as trying to conceal a death and hindering a 911 call.
On Friday evening during a news briefing, UGA Police Chief Jeffrey L. Clark reported on the charges. On Sunday Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that the suspect had illegally entered the country in 2022 and he had been arrested once before in New York City.
Trump on Monday took to his social media platform Truth Social to point out that the Border “invasion” was destroying the United States and its citizens and that this was a death that should not have ever occurred.
