(TheRedWire.com) – On Saturday, former President Donald Trump suggested that his pick for vice President would not be surprising to people.
When asked by Fox News’ Brett Baier, Trump was asked about when he would be choosing who is going to be on the ticket with him if he becomes the Republican nominee. In response, Trump argued that the running mate has never had a lot of effect on an election, which is an “amazing thing.”
He continued by arguing that he may say something regarding his vice president over the next few months but that he was not in a rush to say so. As he pointed out this was not going to have any impact and that the person he is fond of for the position is “a very good person.” He added that he was fairly standard and that it would not be a surprising choice for most people. However, as he pointed out there is around a 25 percent chance that they would be the person in the position.
When asked about who is on his list of potential running mates Baier specifically mentioned Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) who dropped out of the primary race in November and endorsed Trump for the race. Trump said that the senator was a “great guy” and highlighted other political figures.
Earlier this month, Trump also indicated during a town hall in Iowa that he would be willing to consider the possibility of choosing someone who had run against him.
