Trump Enemy GONE – RINO Down!
(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday, August 2, Trump-endorsed candidates in Michigan had a successful election day. In January 2021, Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI) was one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump. Now, GOP voters have cast ballots to tell him they disapproved of his action by voting for his challenger, John Gibbs.
Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Meijer conceded and wished the victor well. The campaign was contentious. Still, the incumbent said he was proud to remain faithful to his principles despite the political cost

Gibbs was an unknown candidate and a former Department of Housing and Urban Development official under former Secretary Ben Carson. Up until the last days, he didn’t raise much money. Then the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) spent $425,000 to hurt Meijer among primary voters. The Democrats’ gamble could be risky.
The DCCC believes that helping lesser-known opponents in primaries because it views them as easier to defeat could give Democratic candidates a fighting chance to hang on to the House this fall. Still, Gibbs said the Left’s help didn’t matter to him. He said they were in trouble either way.
In addition to the House race, Trump-endorsed Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon won as well and is preparing for a showdown with Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Political analysts expect a red wave in the House this November.
