(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday night while delivering a speech at the Lincoln Day Dinner in Des Moines, Iowa, former President Donald Trump claimed that he was the only presidential candidate who could help save America following the Biden administration.
While delivering his speech, Trump argued that people knew which candidate was going to be able to get the “job done.” He then pointed out that he had won in Iowa twice, and that with their support he would be able to win against President Joe Biden, whom he referred to as the “most crooked” U.S. President in history. He added that Biden was completely “incompetent” and that the country is being destroyed by him, but that if Trump wins again in 2024 then he would be able to restore America and make the country “great again.”
Trump is currently leading in the Republican primary race by a large margin, as according to the RealClear Politics average of polling his current support rate is 52.4 percent while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who is second place only has 18.4 percent of voters supporting him. In third place is entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy with 5.4 percent. All three attended and spoke during the event in Des Moines.
During his speech, Trump also touted the accomplishments of his administration and pointed out how supportive he was of ethanol fuel, which requires corn production. Corn is one of the staples of the agriculture industry in Iowa. Trump also pointed out that DeSantis, his key competitor in the primary race, was against ethanol and had often fought against it.
