(TheRedWire.com) – In recent weeks, former President Trump and his team have been using a new technique to fight off the possible threat of a challenger challenging Trump’s position in the Republican primary polls.

Their new strategy includes a combination of attacks on potential challengers, especially Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), over his policy positions, and Trump’s fire-and-brimstone approach of slamming those who criticize or probe into his conduct. Trump is particularly known for his personal attacks and nicknaming of his political opponents. While DeSantis has not yet joined the presidential race, his performance in the polls makes him the challenger that Trump needs to displace the most.

So far, this strategy has helped Trump increase his fundraising haul, especially following his recent arraignment in New York City, as well as a number of congressional endorsements that have helped him further solidify his position as the front-runner in the 2024 presidential election.

Dan Eberhart, a Republican donor who is supporting DeSantis, claimed that the party would be better off with a new candidate that does not have the “baggage” that Trump comes with. However, he admitted that Trump appears to “be more disciplined this time.”

In a new series of video messages posted on social media, Trump details his campaign platform on key issues, including migration, and what he has dubbed dismantling the “deep state.” While some of the claims that Trump makes would have a hard time passing through Congress, the videos exhibit Trump’s intention to have his ideas promoted directly to the public.
