(TheRedWire.com) – On Saturday, former President Donald Trump released a statement claiming that Hamas had received the funding to carry out the coordinated attacks from United States taxpayer dollars.
The unprecedented terror assault by the group started on Saturday at daybreak when the terror group launched thousands of rockets. At the same time, dozens of Hamas fighters crossed the city through the fortified border and started attacking Israelis. Following the original attack, the fighting in the region continued.
The Associated Press has reported that hundreds of people from both sides have lost their lives during the conflict, considered one of the deadliest escalations in this fight in the past few decades.
In his post on his social media platform Truth Social, the former President stated that the attack was funded with “American taxpayer dollars.” He added that the attacks were a “disgrace” and that Israel had the right to defend its country “with overwhelming force.” He then said that taxpayer dollars have ended up in Palestine and in the hands of Hamas through the Biden administration, who used it for funding their attacks. He added that during his time in office, they had brought peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, but President Biden had caused that peace to disintegrate faster than anyone before him.
In 2021, the Biden administration reinstated the Palestinian assistance and sent $235 million. However, many critics have warned that these funds could end up assisting in Hamas’ operations.
