(TheRedWire.com) – Photos from a party at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort show that one of the rooms where the classified documents were being held had been left unguarded during a party thrown on the property.
Last month, Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House, as was determined by Special Counsel Jack Smith following an investigation by the Department of Justice. Prosecutors unsealed the indictment containing the charges against Trump, including claims that Trump had held sensitive materials in rooms accessible to the public visiting his resort.
In the indictment, it is also mentioned that Walt Nauta, Trump’s valet, had reportedly discovered many of Trump’s boxes on December 7, 2021, which had fallen over, and all of their content had dropped to the floor of one of the storage rooms on the ground floor. Nauta has also been indicted in this case, as he allegedly assisted Trump in obstructing federal agencies from retrieving the classified documents.
Prosecutors further allege that Nauta had taken a photo of one of the documents that had fallen on the floor marked “SECRET//REL 13 TO USA, FVEY.” This would imply that the document’s content could only be seen by the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The photo had been sent as a message to a different employee.
On December 7, 2021, Trump hosted an event endorsing Anna Paulina Luna, who was running for Congress in Florida’s 13th District. Carl Prewitt, one of the attendees, posted many photos from the event, including a photo that showed the open storage room door.
