(TheRedWire.com) – Mary Trump, the niece of former President Donald Trump, revealed in her podcast a plan that would have made her uncle spend some time in prison. Mary Trump, a vocal critic of Donald Trump and the son of his family, recently spoke about the gag order imposed on him in the Jan. 6 case.
During her podcast, Mary Trump brought attorney Joe Gallina to discuss the recent gag order. As Gallina pointed out, if Donald Trump ends up breaking the gag order, then it is possible that he could end up in jail or prison. Mary asked whether her guest had any ideas on how they could make the former President break the gag order, thus forcing him to spend some time in prison.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan issued the gag order on Monday, and it limits Donald Trump from making any statements that could be perceived as an attack on possible case witnesses, prosecutors, or her court staff.
However, it does not block Donald Trump from asserting that the case against him is part of a political witch hunt. If Donald Trump does not abide by the gag order, Chutkan has threatened that additional sanctions could be placed. The judge noted that other criminal defendants would similarly not be allowed to make such statements and that she would not allow such statements to be made in this case.
The former President has stated his intention to appeal the gag order and has claimed that it is part of President Joe Biden’s attempts to silence him.
