Tucker Carlson CALLS OUT The Media – He’s Not Having It!
(TheRedWire.com) – After the recent mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, many people across the United States are balking at the existence of the AR-15 rifle, calling it a “weapon of war.” On May 31, Fox News host Tucker Carlson pushed back on that narrative, claiming the military-style weapon is not a war weapon because the actual military doesn’t use it for battle. Instead, he said the weapon is the firearm of choice for “self-defense” and believes Democrats are simply using these incidents to push for gun control.
In fact, the host pointed out that fists and knives kill more people per year than rifles, but no one is going after those. Carlson said President Joe Biden has been trying to ban AR-15s for years, and the recent shootings are renewing the focus.

The now-defunct ArmaLite company designed the AR-15 in 1956 as a lightweight alternative to the M1 Carbine and the M-14 rifles. Three years later, the company sold its rights to Colt’s Manufacturing LLC, and the US military adopted the weapon as its standard service rifle in 1964.
Colt continues to market and sell its semi-automatic AR-15 to civilians and law enforcement agencies. Everyday people mainly use them for target practice, hunting, and competition.
