(TheRedWire.com) – On Thursday, April 7, the US Senate voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the US Supreme Court. She will take her seat after Justice Stephen Breyer formally retires at the end of the court’s current session. All 50 Democrats and three Republicans confirmed Jackson. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) was among the Republicans who voted for Jackson’s confirmation. The once-conservative, now-moderate Senator voted against Jackson’s 2021 nomination to the Washington, DC, Appeals Court, saying she wasn’t qualified and was too mainstream. Now, Romney apparently changed his mind. Perhaps he believes the Supreme Court is less important than the Appeals Court?
Fox News host Tucker Carlson commented on Romney’s change of heart. He roasted the Utah Senator for not representing the wishes of one of the most conservative states in the country. Carlson said the confirmation hearings revealed how mainstream Judge Jackson truly is: She disregards sentencing guidelines for child pornographers, didn’t show up to vote one way or another regarding the vaccine mandate, and accused former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) of treason for refusing to oppose Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Tucker went after Romney for saying the court needs a voice against racism and someone who’ll stand up to say, Black Lives Matter.
The Fox News host concluded by reminding his viewers that Democracy is a form of government where elected representatives represent those that elect them. Yet, Carlson wondered aloud whether Romeny understood he was betraying red voters in his state and then asked how long Republican voters would put up with it?
