Tulsi Gabbard Sends Mitt Romney Cease-and-Desist Demand

Mitt Romney Told to CEASE AND DESIST

(TheRedWire.com) – In 2020, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) ran in the Democratic Party for president. A moderate, Gabbard had little chance of winning the presidential primary as the Left seized power over Democrats. Additionally, Gabbard is a Major in the California Army National Guard. On Wednesday, April 20, the former Congresswoman announced on Twitter that she forwarded a Cease and Desist letter to Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) for alleging she parroted Russian propaganda.

The allegation is serious for an Army Reserve civil affairs officer. Gabbard accused Romney of making false and defamatory statements. The former Congresswoman’s attorneys recommended that Romney settle the matter before they begin litigation.

So, why did Romney suggest Gabbard was repeating Russian disinformation? It appears to come from a tweet by Gabbard regarding biolabs in Ukraine. Gabbard told Fox News host Tucker Carlson she was deeply concerned about the Russian military potentially targeting Ukrainian biolabs funded by the US.

Gabbard’s attorneys said her tweet was accurate and that Romney attended a March 8 Senate hearing about the issue and should have known better than to say otherwise. Gabbard didn’t say the labs were for biological weapons. She only acknowledged that the US funded biolabs existing in Ukraine.

The cease and desist order also pointed out that Gabbard is a loyal US citizen and said it was wrong for Romney to accuse the Army major of treason.
