(TheRedWire.com) – Twitter strikes again! The social media company has become increasingly hostile to conservative voices and doesn’t appear to be slowing down its repeated censorship. Jim Hoft, founder and editor-in-chief of the Gateway Pundit, is the latest to be banned from the platform. In addition, Gateway Pundit journalist Cassandra Fairbanks was suspended for twelve hours.

Hoft and Gateway Pundit personnel share an increasingly crowded list among those who Twitter has censored. Former President Donald Trump, the New York Post, former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn, attorneys Sidney Powell and L. Lin Wood, and My Pillow Guy Mike Lindell, among hundreds or thousands of conservatives who faced suspensions or bans. In recent days, Twitter announced a new community-based monitoring system called “Birdwatch.” Its purpose is to solicit help in monitoring information and flagging tweets that those accepted into the program deem to be “misleading.”
Twitter justifies censoring high profile conservative voices it doesn’t agree with through the repeated use of its “Civic Integrity Policy.” The policy bans any language from “manipulating or interfering in elections or other civic processes” as a violation but leaves interpretation open to the platform. Free speech proponents decry the bans and suspensions and question Twitter’s credibility.
