(TheRedWire.com) – Netflix nabbed its first Emmy for the hit show “Cheer.” Unfortunately, some of the male cheerleaders on the reality-based documentary series ran into legal issues. Last summer, breakout star Jerry Harris was arrested and charged with multiple allegations of improper conduct with minor girls. He’s facing multiple felony charges. Last week, two more male members of the Cheer team were also charged with crimes related to alleged sexual misconduct involving minors.
Update: USASF said it learned of the allegations against Mitch Ryan in late October. USASF suspended him today, after we published our article. It did not explain the delay. https://t.co/VmB7lN00wo https://t.co/nCvW6o8j63

Robert Joseph Scianna Jr., the cheer team’s coach and choreographer, has a tremendous international following. Police in Chesterfield County, VA, arrested him on Wednesday, February 3, on charges of taking indecent liberties with a child and using electronic communications to solicit sex.
In addition, the Dallas County sheriff’s department arrested Mitchell Ryan, a member of the cheer squad, on Friday, February 5, for felony aggravated sexual assault with a minor alleged to have occurred on July 24. Ryan’s attorney said Ryan and his family look forward to their day in court to prove his innocence.
Netflix has remained silent about the arrests. The US All-Star Federation (USASF), which governs all-star cheerleading and dance, has suspended both men pending criminal proceedings.
