(TheRedWire.com) – One US Senator is declaring he’s had enough of the rhetoric and lack of action on the southern border. It’s been 125 days since President Biden appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the charge on the southern border crisis as of Thursday, May 27. Harris still hasn’t visited the border to see the problems their campaign rhetoric and failed policies caused, and she appears to have no intention to do so.
Flying over the border doesn’t count.@VP & @POTUS need to acknowledge their open border & amnesty policies have failed, creating a humanitarian & national security crisis. It's time to protect Americans & secure the border NOW: https://t.co/bq2tY0lvMk pic.twitter.com/wyDfG1HyPd

On Monday, May 24, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) wrote that apprehensions at the southern border rose above 178,000 in April. That comes to 6,000 per day. Instead of going to the border to talk with agents on the ground about the crisis, Harris plans to travel to Guatemala and Mexico in June to meet with their respective presidents about the situation. Scott said flying 35,000 feet over the problem while making that treck doesn’t count as a visit to the border.
Scott said he plans to hold up Biden’s nominees to fill positions at the Department of Homeland Security until either the president or vice president visits the border.
