(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday afternoon during a Red Butte Airfield speech in Arizona President Biden made a gaffe after he referred to the Grand Canyon as one of the “nine wonders” of the world. The comment drew a lot of attention from social media users who were quick to criticize him for the comment.
During his speech, Biden stated that there was no national treasure quite as great as the Grand Canyon which was “one of the Earth’s nine wonders.” He then proceeded to argue that this was an undeniable symbol of America across the world.
Many users of X, previously Twitter, were quick to blast Biden for the weird statement.
As Tim Young, a political satirist pointed out there are only 7 or a maximum 8 wonders of the world depending on the list that one is looking at. He then argued that Biden was completely “clueless” and that his staff did not appear to care or help in this situation.
Daniel Turner, the executive director of Power of Future also joked by saying that Biden was one of the 7 Dwarfs “Sniffy. Bribey? Or Dirty.”
Townhall contributor John Hasson said that the addition of “literally” at the end of Biden’s statement made it even funnier. This was something Jake Schneider, the RNC Rapid Response Director also agreed with pointing out that Biden was “literally” making up stuff.
According to most lists, the accepted seven wonders of the world are the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India, Petra in Jordan, the Colosseum in Italy, Chichén Itzá in Mexico, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, and Machu Picchu in Peru.
