(TheRedWire.com) – During a New York speaking event, U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi was heckled and called a “sad, old drunk.” The event took place at the City University of New York Graduate Center where she was invited to a speaking event with Nobel-prize-winning economist Paul Krugman on Monday. While on stage a number of attendees started booing and heckling the congresswoman, shouting insults.

Pelosi, who had previously served as the House Speaker, had been leading the House Democrats since 2003 before stepping down last year. The 82-year-old won’t seek reelection as a Democrat leader, but still, the attendees of the event tried to hold Pelosi accountable for a number of her past decisions and actions.

One protester yelled that he “came to see a warmonger, but you’re sad, old drunk,” he proceeded to ask whether Pelosi when visiting Taiwan had been “looking for Ukraine.” He then proceeded to ask whether she was involved in blowing “up the Nord Stream” and inquired whether it had been an accident or done on purpose.

Security was quick to remove the protester from the event.

Pelosi’s attendance at the New York event was on the same day that former President Donald Trump arrived in the city ahead of his arrest and arraignment. Many of the protestors were in the city because of Trump’s indictment.

The videos of the hecklers from Pelosi’s event have gone viral online.

One protestor specifically accused Pelosi of having a “very bad obsession” with getting the country involved in wars. While questioning Pelosi’s role in the U.S. entering the Iraq war.
