As of December 22, 2020, 40+ countries have closed their borders to travelers from the UK, with some American politicians pushing for the same. France has closed the Chunnel to traffic, which has left more than 1500 truckers stranded in Kent, England, waiting to get their cargo over the border.
It’s been reported that the experts at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research are looking at this new version of the virus to ensure that the existing vaccines will be effective against it. The good news: They are cautiously optimistic that the inoculations will be able to protect recipients.
