(TheRedWire.com) – Former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks stated that she believes former President Trump is “toast” if prosecutors have an audio recording in which Trump is discussing having in his possession classified material detailing a possible military strike in Iran.

Wine-Banks, in an interview with MSNBC, stated that all of the evidence adds up to the case, and there is no single piece of evidence that is the “’ be all and end all.’” However, as she pointed out, adding all the existing evidence together allows them to develop a strong case, and it is hard to imagine that Trump will get away.

She then pointed to the pin on her blouse, which looked like a piece of toast, and stated that she was “wearing a toast pin today because I think he’s toast.”

Special counsel Jack Smith who is handling the Department of Justice’s investigation into Trump’s handling of classified material, is reportedly getting closer to deciding whether or not to file charges against the former President. The investigation will also examine whether Trump had deliberately attempted to obstruct the government from gaining access to the missing documents following the end of his administration.

The National Archives had requested from Trump to return all the sensitive documents in his possession, and Trump had even been subpoenaed for them. Eventually, the FBI conducted a search of his Mar-a-Lago property which resulted in the retrieval of over 100 classified documents, which Trump had previously not handed over.
