(TheRedWire.com) – It appears that it’s all fun and games for one online gamer when it comes to faking out real reporters and the White House. It didn’t just happen once either. In fact, the gamer who claimed to be a reporter was able to fool the White House press corps four times since late 2020. COVID protocols only allow a small number of reporters into the White House press room. As a result, reporters in the room often ask questions for their colleagues who were unable to participate. It seems that an online gamer created a fake name and infiltrated the press corps to ask questions the press doesn’t normally ask White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
Since late last year, 'Kacey Montagu' has taken on the identity of a White House correspondent extraordinaire with a fictional outlet to boot: White House News, shortened in emails to WHN.https://t.co/7Ilj69l3I9

The gamer created a fake news outlet called White House News (WHN) and chose the name Kacey Montagu. Additionally, the fraudster created two Twitter pages. Journalists and top White House officials follow each. Montagu even claimed to be a member of the White House Correspondents Association. Until Thursday, April 8, the imposter remarkably didn’t catch anyone’s attention. As of Monday, April 12, the true identity of the imposter is still unknown.
