(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday a New York jury in a civil trial determined that former President Donald Trump was liable for sexual assault and defamation. However, these legal woes are not enough to calm down those Democrats that are worried that their party is underestimating Trump’s chances of winning the GOP presidential nomination.

One prominent Democratic strategist pointed out that this was a “concern” and that there appears to be a “disconnect” between the party’s consultants and the average voter. They added that while consultants might consider campaign ads enough for targeting Trump, those ads are not going to be enough.

Another strategist also stated that the Democrats should “Be very f—ing worried.”

Still, for many others in the Democratic party, it seems impossible that Trump will be able to regain the White House after leaving office in 2021. Following Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election a mob of his supporters broke into the Capitol in an attempt to block the certification of the election.

Trump is now facing a number of lawsuits and legal woes, some of which relate to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol race. Despite this though, there are polls in which Trump is leading against President Biden.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll this week specifically showed Trump winning 45 percent of respondents support while Biden only had 39 percent. Similarly, Trump was also in the lead by 5 polls in a Harvard-Harris poll from last month. Still, The Wall Street Journal in their poll had Biden in the lead by 3 percentage points.
